She soon created a stir when she played Jenny Mellor in An Education (2009), winning a BAFTA award for Best Actress and nominations from the Academy Awards, Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild. She hasn't stopped working since, even appearing both in West End London and off-Broadway in the 2018 stage play Girls & Boys, as well as on Netflix in the crime drama series Collateral.
