Llewelyn Moss in No Country for Old Men (2007)

The Coen Brothers have a penchant for the unexpected and they sure take the cake for the cruel demise of Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), a regular Joe Schmoe who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Llewelyn happens upon a drug deal gone wrong, and makes away with a briefcase full of cash. Unfortunately for him, a sociopathic hitman with very bad hair named Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) has been hired to recover the money – by any means necessary. So what’s surprising isn’t that Llewelyn dies, but actually how he dies. With a dangerous killer hot on his tail, one could easily expect an epic death scene for Mr. Moss. However, our ill-fated protagonist actually ends up being shot down in the street by a group of Mexicans riding in a pickup truck. The most shocking part – they didn’t even bother to show his death on screen.
