David Archuleta was the runner-up to David Cook in season seven. At 16, Archuleta was one of the youngest contestants on American Idol and he received 44 per cent of the 97 million votes for the show’s finale that year. The singer is now 23 and has produced three albums. David is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has done much charity work following American Idol. He served a two-year mission for the church in 2011 in Chile. David released pre-recorded music while serving on his mission and will reportedly produce new music this year now that he is home from his mission.
