Arguably the least known on this list, the very talented Ben Foster has appeared in over 30 films in his less than 20-year career. Many in which he’s done truly excellent work. His performance in 3:10 to Yuma was critically acclaimed and he was nominated for a Satellite award, but it didn’t seem to catapult his career to greater heights. Critics also loved him as a war hero tasked to give notice to the families of fallen soldiers in The Messenger, but it disappeared into the ether of his IMDB filmography. Even his recent role as Lance Armstrong in The Program has been largely ignored. Despite this, Ben has managed to continually work and quietly build himself a solid resumé of films. So, here’s hoping.
