Sam Rockwell

Sam Rockwell is simply great in everything. He should be—he’s been working since the '80s. His first major breakthrough performance in 2002’s Confessions of a Dangerous Mind was divisive, sure, but it was irreverent and completely memorable. This is a guy who looks like he truly enjoys acting. His work as a man wrongly convicted of murder in Conviction was one of the best performances of 2010, yet the movie and his performance received little-to-no recognition or publicity. Same with his work in The Way, Way Back. And Seven Psychopaths. Even Charlie’s Angels. The mark of a great actor isn’t always how deep into the character he dives, or the physical transformation he undertakes, sometimes it’s simply about how much we enjoy watching him on screen.
