Mario Bello

Many critics, to this day, still blast Maria Bello's shocking shutout at the 2005 Oscars. Her turn as the confused and vulnerable wife of a former hitman in A History of Violence proved she was one of only a few actresses who will (and can) truly push the envelope on screen, both emotionally and physically. Roles in indie films like The Cooler, Downloading Nancy and Beautiful Boy solidified her as a true risk taker, and it's (hopefully) only a matter of time before mainstream audiences and studio heads take stock of this unique acting force.
