The Dark Knight (2008)

We know the Joker is a remarkably smart and cunning villain; he also has an extensive knowledge of weaponry and can easily defend himself in hand-to-hand combat, as we see in the climactic fight sequence between him and Batman in The Dark Knight. One theory explains Joker’s precise planning, fighting skills and knowledge of the policing system may be a result of his time in the army. While his specific role is highly debated, theorists agree he could definitely be a veteran suffering from some pretty crippling PTSD. In The Dark Knight, he even says: “If tomorrow I tell the press... a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics because it’s all part of the plan.” Maybe this is how he got his scars?
