Rob Stewart in the Galapagos at Darwin Island

Struck by the photography bug, Rob became the official photographer for the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s magazines, Wild and Canadian Wildlife. On a photo assignment to the Galapagos to get shots for the magazines, Rob discovered illegal longline fishing. Although Rob had never considered becoming an activist, when he saw the effects of longlining on that trip, with more than 100 dead hammerhead sharks, manta rays and other fish dying as they were tangled in the lines, Rob vowed to do whatever it took to save sharks.
