After Robin Williams initially declined the sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), deciding he didn’t like the script, he may have had a change of heart years later. Chatter around a sequel began in early 2000, but director Chris Columbus said they could never agree on a concept, and would only move forward if they could replicate the success of the original. An interesting idea for the sequel’s script was developed, but when Robin Williams passed away in 2014 the film was put on ice for good.
