Forrest Gump

While Forrest Gump was loosely based on the novel by Winston Groom, screenwriter Eric Roth turned in an original sequel script on September 10, 2001 but after the events of 9/11, Roth, along with Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis, felt the film was meaningless. In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Roth revealed all the plot points he would have fit into Forrest Gump 2. The movie was going to start with Forrest Gump's son having AIDS and then follow Forrest through various events in the 1990s. Forrest was going to be in the back of O.J. Simpson's Bronco during the infamous car pursuit, and Princess Diana was going to make an appearance in a storyline that involved Forrest being a ballroom dancer who dances with Diana during a charity event.
