When a movie becomes a big box office hit, studios often look to pounce on that popularity by cranking out a sequel as soon as possible. Sometimes the turnaround is as quick as a year. Most of the time audiences are given a breather of two to three years. However, there are the rare instances in which the gap between sequels can last a decade or more.
