Fantasia (1940)/Fantasia 2000 (1999) – 59 years

As arguably the most iconic anthology of animated shorts in the history of cinema, Disney’s Fantasia remains one of the most beautiful collections of the art form today. In honor of that, Disney began work on a followup 50 years later in 1990. However, work on this new anthology of animated shorts would take nine years to produce, with the sequel being titled Fantasia 2000, released in 1999, 59 years after the original.
