On the opposite end of the Dumb and Dumber films are director Malcolm D. Lee’s The Best Man films. With the sequel titled The Best Man Holiday, Lee allowed audiences to look at how the characters of the original film have either remained the same or changed in the 14 years between the two films. Rather than sticking with stagnant personalities, Lee shows how some people mature over time, which works to the film’s success and justifies its 14-year gap.
