Vegas Vacation (1997)/Vacation (2015) – 18 years

In 2015 the National Lampoon sequel, simply titled Vacation, released 18 years after the last entry in the series: Vegas Vacation. Much like many other comedy films with sequels made long after the original’s success, there’s a dated feeling to the style of comedy presented in the film. What may have worked for audiences then doesn’t always work now. However, directors Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley rebounded nicely with the critical hit Game Night in 2018.
