Crash (2004)

In 2004, director Paul Haggis introduced his ensemble drama Crash to eager audiences at TIFF in the festival's Special Presentations program. Two years later, the Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon and Don Cheadle film about race relations and loss in fast-paced Los Angeles left the Oscars with three wins, including a surprise victory in the Best Picture race. It was also nominated in three additional categories.
