Life is Beautiful (1997)

This emotional Italian film follows a man and his son, both of whom are captured during the Holocaust. The father relies on the power of imagination to shield his son from the atrocities of internment in a Nazi concentration camp. Life is Beautiful nabbed three Oscars in 1999, including Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actor (Roberto Benigni), after scoring the People's Choice Award at TIFF in 1998.
