The Way Way Back (2013)

While vacationing at a beach house with his divorced mother, played by Toni Collette, and her overbearing new boyfriend, portrayed by Steve Carrell, a teenage boy discovers himself and the change one summer can give (sun)rise to. Bubbling with the awakenings of youthfulness, the film delights and delivers everywhere it should.

Fun fact: Lovers in this film Toni and Steve portrayed siblings in a 2006 hit that also could have swum onto this list: Little Miss Sunshine.
