The Fountain

One of the most visually-striking entries on this list, Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain is an incredible journey told across three time periods and featuring the same actors in each: Hugh Jackman as Tommy and Rachel Weisz as his sick wife, Izzi. As Tommy rushes to find a cure for her, we experience three thematically linked narratives—one from the past, one from the present and one from the future—that may or may not tie together literally.
