Madagascar vs The Wild

Time difference: 11 months apart.

Disney and DreamWorks would clash once again between 2005 and 2006 with their animal-centric CGI- animated films. In 2005 DreamWorks would release the colorfully animated film Madagascar about New York zoo animals shipped off to the jungle and learn to adjust to living in the wild. Less than a year later, Disney would follow suit with The Wild, a similarly plotted film about an adolescent lion who is shipped from New York to Africa with his friends looking to bring him back. The former would go on to be a box office hit and spawn two sequels for the studio, while The Wild remains one of Disney’s forgotten films.
