In early 1970s Hollywood, Rudy Ray Moore (Eddie Murphy), a struggling comedian and singer, works in a record store. Drawing on the hustlers he meets in the neighborhood, he comes up a stage character named Dolemite, who’s a pimp, and soon becomes a blaxploitation phenomenon.
