Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang & Riz Ahmed as Chirrut Imwe, Baze Malbus & Bodhi Rook – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

As mentioned earlier with Kelly Marie Tran, there is a different distinction with Rogue One's trio of Asian characters and Tran herself. Though she is the first Asian with a major role in a main line (a.k.a. Skywalker Saga) Star Wars film, Yen, Jiang and Ahmed hold the distinction as the first Asians with major roles in an anthology Star Wars film. Considering that the film was about Rogue One as a group, with each member contributing to the success of their mission, I couldn't pick one actor over the other two, and generally speaking the characters of Chirrut (Donnie Yen), Baze (Wen Jiang) and Bodhi (Riz Ahmed) were all well-rounded with their own motivations and mini-character arcs. Each was memorable in their own right and helped bring about a level of diversity and representation that had yet to be seen in Star Wars to that point.
