Fans may still have to wait roughly a year until the highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theatres on December 18, 2015, but for the time being they can quench their excitement with a new photo of the Millennium Falcon. The photo appeared online via Fortune magazine and shows Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger on set with the new and improved ship in the background.
The famous ship first appeared in the franchise in the 1977 Lucasfilm movie Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, where it was manned by Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and fan favorite Chewbacca. The updated spacecraft will make its first appearance in the seventh installment out next year. The film will be the first feature to come out of Lucasfilm since Disney purchased the production company for $4 billion in 2012. ~Janine Wyslobicky
