Pregnant Hasselbeck hit by bike

Elisabeth HasselbeckThe View host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 32, who’s pregnant with her third child, was hit by a bicyclist in New York City. On the TV show, she gave details of the collision, saying, “I was walking, walking, walking. I turn around to just try and get a cab, and I get hit by a bike.” The bicycle in question was a delivery bike and she joked, “Apparently somebody got their pizza or burger on time because that guy was in a rush.” Naturally, moments after the accident, she was on Twitter, tweeting, “Was hit by a bike today on a sidewalk… Thankfully the belly is ok. Wondering how many other New Yorkers have had the same thing happen.” Hours later she added: “Apparently, almost everyone in this city has been hit by a bike at some point. ONLY IN NYC.” ~movi_alex As seen in issue #394 of Movie Mail.

I know what you’re thinking Jo. Could it have been…Moondog? Hahahaha.

  2. Brenda • April 17, 2009 @ 1:48 PM

Too bad she survived…I stopped watching the View because of her. Annoying!!!!

  3. Mary • April 17, 2009 @ 2:54 PM

I also find her annoying and she is the reason my friends and I no longer watch the VIEW.

  4. Jo-Anne • April 17, 2009 @ 3:10 PM

sorry she got hit, obviously…but Brenda, Mary, I’m with you two, however I can’t stand watching any of them except Joy…

Nancy, if you would have taken just one second to look away from your “Jo Tribute Chronicles” and warned him, perhaps this accident could have been avoided…tsk tsk

    “Jo Tribute Chronicles”?

I thought she was you. I told Moondog “Go! Hit her…as hard as you can! Run the B Over!”

    Huhhhh…..maybe next time! 😛

    “Too bad she survived”??? Nice.

Can’t stand her on The View but I gotta admit she handled this accident with a great sense of humor. I was pretty parinoid when I was pregnant but she didn’t over react at all. Makes me think I should give her a 2nd chance!

She couldn’t have been hit that hard if she was off twittering minutes later about the accident! I do not like her at all, I still watch the view because I enjoy listening to Joy and Barbara sometimes Sheri and sometimes Whoopi and I say sometimes because sometimes the two of them can be overbearing, they start off being humble then whoopi as soon as someone is on the show praising her work or whatever she’s off and worse when she starts on her soap box about anything she is sure she knows more about than anyone else. But Elisabeth is the worst, you say black she’ll say white, and her politics I was so glad to see that all over with because it always came back to Obama and the rev.Wright, too bad nobody mentioned her affliation with the lying sack o shite Bush more than once!!! I do not however wish her any harm.

well, thankfully the baby is ok. thats good news. i never saw her on anything ever.

I don’t wish anyone to be hit by a bike and certainly not a pregnant woman but man, I agree with all your comments above ladies!

I can’t watch The View with Elisabeth on. She yaps for the sake of yapping and only gets louder when no one seems to be listening to her, and not because she has a valid or an educated opinion on the matter. Arguing for the sake of being heard does not make you seem smarter! It makes me cringe every time the co-hosts have to tell her to pipe-down, as if she is a child. (esp. Barbara) I think the producers keep her on to appease the right wingers and so as to appear balanced somewhat.

ok ok since I agree with everything Riley and Patricia said, I guess I have to eat that 2nd chance offer to Elizabeth! lol

I like the view and I like Elizabeth. She gives the show some conflict. It would actually be boring if they all hated Bush and loved Obama, then it would be nothing but pathetic robots. At least she says what she thinks to be right, and unlike many people, she doesn’t conform to the norm. So many people are scared to speak their mind because of the critism they get from people like some of you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion…It’s called “HAVING AN OPEN MIND”.

  13. Nancy • April 19, 2009 @ 5:02 PM

Exactly Carol…I’ve been saying that for awhile now but it just falls on deaf ears.

  14. tributegirl • April 19, 2009 @ 7:11 PM

Agreed, Carol, it’s as if people who don’t “conform to the norm” are automatically considered wrong, and shown no mercey.

  15. lily • April 19, 2009 @ 8:05 PM

Sorry Carol, Nancy and tributegirl but I’m going to disagree with all of you. I can’t stand Elizabeth’s politics, witch is nothing to do with her “conforming to the norm”. In fact, for a long time after 9-11 her kind of right wing Bush worship WAS the norm, so much so that anyone who dared voice another opinion was viciously attacked by the media and the public. Remember the Dixie Chicks? I am all for her right to her own opinion but I also have the right to think those opinions are idiotic, don’t I? And of course I won’t show mercy to opinions if I think there terribly, terribly wrong, like I veiw all support of George Bush.
I still think Elizabeth was a good sport about the hole bike thing, and I still respect all of you even if you disagree with everything Im saying!

No problem, lily, to be honest, I don’t watch the View, not my type of show, don’t know diddly about Elizabeth, I was just commenting on some of the comments. Guess I should also comment on the article! I am glad that the baby is ok.

  17. Nancy • April 20, 2009 @ 6:09 PM

I don’t watch it either…I have seen it before and (gritting my teeth) I gotta agree with Jo-Anne that Joy is the only one worth watching. Don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back though, Jo…haha (extra)ha. I agreed with this comment from Carol, “So many people are scared to speak their mind because of the critism they get from people like some of you”. Certain criticism is good but, well you know.
