Dog who advises “two-leggeds” during COVID-19 crisis signs with Hollywood reps

You’ve probably already seen talking dog Pluto on social media, talking about the crisis the “two-leggeds” are going through.

Her Canadian owner, Nancie Wright, first posted Pluto’s video to YouTube on March 17, and it quickly took off, with over 10 million views across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Pluto was so popular that Wright set up a website store with products featuring Pluto, such as T-shirts, keychains, mugs, tote bags and magnets, sporting catchphrases such as “I like fish sticks” and “Cats aren’t that important.”

Pluto has done a number of “Pluto Service Announcements” in which she discusses the quarantine, tells six jokes in 60 seconds, celebrates International Nurses Day and Mother’s Day, giving a shoutout to her mom’s grandmoms who they can’t visit because of the “stuck-inside rule.”

Her fans include stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Sia and Robin Wright, and now Pluto has her own Hollywood reps, The Gotham Group and literary agency Sterling Lord Literistic. Wright is now in discussions for a television project starring Pluto and a book deal.

Pluto released a statement that reads: “I’m so excited to be working with the amazeballs two-leggeds at The Gotham Group and Sterling Lord Literistic. In the face of a global pandemic, it became quite evident to me that the entire two-legged population was acting out in strange and unusual ways. There was a crisis with the toilet paper, and people were losing their minds…  My advice was simple—keeping the bum hairs clipped really, really, really short worked exceptionally well for me. Mentioning where to find snacks, and reminding everyone to social distance (and refrain from sniffing crotches) seemed like pretty standard stuff, but it must have touched some heart chords.”
