Queen Elizabeth to visit Game of Thrones set

By Alexandra Heilbron on June 19, 2014 | 9 Comments

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are scheduled to tour the studios in Belfast where the HBO series Game of Thrones is filmed. The official Twitter page of the British Monarchy tweeted yesterday about the visit, saying, “As part of the visit to Northern Ireland The Queen and The Duke will tour the Game of Thrones set in the Titanic quarter.” An official statement on the British Monarchy’s website says the visit will take place sometime between June 23 and June 25th, 2014. Game of Thrones, which is set in a fictitious time and place, had record ratings this past season and according to the Belfast Telegraph, has brought $139 million dollars to Northern Ireland, by creating more than 900 full time and 5,700 part time jobs.

I wonder if she watches it? I can’t picture her watching that show.

I am so sick of ‘royalty’. How people tolerate and admire this concept of being born into wealth and priveledge is just ludacrous. (Now comes the wrath of those I have just offended)….

I’m a Game of Thrones fan! But I don’t think the Queen has any idea what the show is about!

Dear David, You may be expecting wrath because you spew and run. I like the Royal Family and like them as part of my/our country. Lastly, you’re nasty spelling deters from the credibility of your message, regardless of my opposition to your opinion. Ludicrous not Ludacrous (at least it wasn’t Ludacris-holla!) and Privelage not Priveledge. Looks like someone is hooked on Phonics. Well, “Tag, you’re it!”- I’ll hang around for a bit, should you decide to spew abit more.

@Kimberly. My gosh you are brilliant. Spew and run, huh? How exactly do you expect me to ‘stay’? It’s a freaking comment section. I believe I have every right to voice my opinion on a forum like this. Good for you for admiring the royal family. Not sure exactly what it is that you admire. Is it the fact that they do nothing really? And, by the way, if you are going to knock my spelling (which I really don’t pay much attention to on a discussion or blog) then get it right yourself, will you? It is actually privelege, not privelage. How about some hooked on phonics for yourself, Ms. Credible. (By the way, I would hazard a guess that I have a bit more education and credibility than you, purely based on your sheep-like admiration).

Wow who knew! I also wonder if she actually watches it, I know I have a hard time keeping the focus because of all the porn like action lol. Still I would love that tour of the sets!

She and Phil snuggle up in bed after a long day of waving with a bowl of popcorn to watch the latest episode of GoT!

If England want to throw away their hard earned wages in supporting this “Monarchy” image while these royals tour whatever silly events that have no significances what-so-ever… that’s their affair. As long as these Royals don’t come spend other countries (US and Canada) money in touring them.

    Hahahaha Kimberley – “you’re nasty spelling deters…”
    It’s YOUR.
    Smartass.
