Queen Latifah added to star-studded Super Bowl lineup

Queen Latifah‘s show-stopping performance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards definitely attracted attention, because she’s just been added to the lineup for the Super Bowl XLVIII. The actress and musician made Grammy history last Sunday in her on-stage collaboration with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mary Lambert and Madonna, where she officiated the marriages of 33 couples during a performance of “Same Love.” The NFL announced that Queen Latifah will be opening Sunday’s anticipated showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos with a rendition of  “America the Beautiful,” the same song she sang at the 2010 Super Bowl with country crooner Carrie Underwood. The rest of the Super Bowl lineup is going to be a star-studded affair, with opera singer Renee Fleming set to perform the National Anthem and Bruno Mars collaborating with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for the halftime show. ~Yara Matar
