Race to Witch Mountain Feature

By A A on March 10, 2009 | 8 Comments

For years, stories have circulated about a secret place in the middle of the Nevada desert, known for unexplained phenomena and strange sightings. It’s called Witch Mountain, and when a Las Vegas cab driver (Dwayne Johnson) finds two teens with supernatural powers in his cab, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of an adventure he can’t explain. They work together to discover that the only chance to save the world lies in unraveling the secrets of Witch Mountain, and the race begins.

man, oh man, it’s a good thing for Slumdog Millionaire this was released after the award nominations…coulda been a close race…

Jo-Anne, do you think it will be that good? (haha, I know you are being facetious).

I wonder how it will compare to the original series from the 70’s, or the remade for TV movie. I really miss the simplicity of those Disney family films of my childhood (The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, Superdad, and the like.) Sure they weren’t great, but for a kid, they were fun, and weren’t just about special effects.

    thanks Pete, you get it…
loved the old childhood movies, you are right

(ps. tribute my earlier post was better…what the heck happened there?? dragging now on night shift, lack of sleep…)

I heard one reviewer say he loved this movie, despite expecting to hate it. Now for my full confessions: I like Disney films AND I think Dwayne “he’ll always be the Rock to me” Johnson is funny and quite charming!

lily, same here, I love Disney films, and really love The Rock! He just seems different from the rest, seems more genuine. Plus it doesn’t hurt that he’s VERY good looking!

Hey tributegirl, I have to agree 100% with that opinion!!!

Pete, I’ve noticed you always write something worth reading. You remind me of Jim, because you have a nice sense of humour but you also see the serious side.

Jo-Anne, I think your hysterical! I’m sorry we missed your “earlier post” if it really was even better LOL!

thanks lily, I must admit I don’t understand the way this site works sometimes…I posted something, it says “await moderation” and it never shows up…absolutely nothing in the post to render it “unpostable” however a lot of other stuff slips through…oh well, I guess they have hundreds of posts to check…

“and it never shows up”…that’s BULL Jo! I’ve been on here at the time when some of your “awaiting moderation” comments come through…and the time is right on them when you tried to put them through. Need an example? How about on the Christina Ricci -March 18 article. Your first comment (March 19, 3:52 pm) awaited moderation and your second comment (March 19, 3:57 pm) came through first…the one that just says “Ghost World.” So…never say “never”!! It’s not Tribute’s fault you can’t keep your posts “clean”!! 😉
