Daniel Radcliffe has donated the glasses he wore as Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to an exhibition commemorating the victims of the Holocaust. The Respectacles Project is creating a piece of artwork inspired by a famous WWII picture of a mountain of broken glasses, and Radcliffe is the latest British celebrity to donate specs. Liverpool Mayor Paul Clark told The Daily Star: “It is a wonderful gesture by Daniel, particularly as he will help us reach the younger generations. The glasses will form part of a symbolic piece of artwork which will help people to learn how important it is to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust. This initiative is an opportunity for people to reflect on the past and issues such as racism, prejudice, violence and bullying.”
