Ralph Fiennes thinks Daniel Craig is suffering from ”post traumatic stress” from playing James Bond.
The 52-year-old actor – who plays intelligence officer M in the spy saga – defended his Spectre co-star for recently saying he would ”rather slash his wrists” than play 007 again, insisting he was just letting off steam after months of ”carrying” the movie.
He said: ”Daniel is filming for something like seven months, is in 95 per cent of the film and does all his own stunts, so I think anything he says after that is coming from a man who has post traumatic stress syndrome. He carries the film, he gives an amazing performance so I take all of that with a pinch of salt. I think you have to recognize that this is a guy that has given 200 per cent of his life, everything, to inhabiting Bond and at the end of it he is just shooting from the hip.”
And though Ralph is hoping Daniel will return to the franchise for a fifth movie, he admits the future is still uncertain.
Asked if he thought he would be back, he said on Watch What Happens Live: ”We are all hoping he will but we just don’t know.”
