Rashida Jones apologizes for Travolta comments

By Tribute on August 16, 2012 | 8 Comments

As we reported this week, 36-year-old The Office star Rashida Jones revealed in an interview with Spinning Platters that she thought a major movie star needed to come out of the closet. Her suggestion? John Travolta, stating, “Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let’s do this,” while promoting her latest film, Celeste and Jesse Forever. Now she has taken to her Twitter account to apologize, posting, “Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta. I sincerely apologize. Nobody’s personal life is my business.” Travolta’s sexuality has come into question lately due to multiple male masseuses claiming the actor behaved in a somewhat inappropriate and sexual fashion. Many speculate that if he is indeed gay, it is his affiliation with the Church of Scientology that is keeping him in the closet, but others believe he is simply telling the truth and he is being taken advantage of by both the media and the men coming forward. ~Morgan Bates

    She was out of line.

Engage brain before opening mouth always seemed like a good motto to me.

Oh come on. Get over it. If you choose public life, it becomes public like it or not.

We are all entitled to our opinions. Her only mistake was that she did this in an interview and not upon a stage. Scientology can destroy the minds of those that are involved, but they can’t fool the rest of us…Travolta and Cruise are actors in every sense of the word.

Okay, here we go…..don’t we all find it ironic that all the masseurs are from the same place??? Clearly they want their 15 minutes of fame. John Travolta has gone through tragedy and triumph on many things but come on, guys…enough already. Leave him and Kelly alone. As for Scientology…I do agree 100%…something is definitely off with that group…it is a cult and they are being brainwashed if they believe every piece of crap that comes out of that place! As for Rashida Jones? We all have the right to speak our minds. She apologised. Let it go. There is also a phrase “it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and leave no doubt!” That applies to quite a few people!!!

She was out of line. She wouldn’t like someone making comments about her personal life, would she? She’s a public figure too. BUT they put ‘The Office’ star? I think she spent more time and is a co-star on Parks and Rec. and better known for that now, non?

What – having a female masseuse is cheating?

But yeah any man who let’s another man massage him is straight up gay, period.
