Zoolander 2 nominated for nine RazziesJust one day before the nominations for the 89th Academy Awards will be announced, the Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) have revealed their picks for the worst films and filmmakers of 2016. Instead of their usual five choices for each category, they’ve chosen six, explaining that there were so many bad movies last year they had too difficult a time limiting the choices to five.

Zoolander 2, despite being a highly anticipated sequel, has the most nods at nine, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Ben Stiller) and Worst Director (Ben Stiller again).

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earned almost as many, with eight nominations. In addition to Worst Picture, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill go head-to-head for Worst Actor and are also nominated together for Worst Screen Combo. Jesse Eisenberg, who played Lex Luthor, is nominated for Worst Supporting Actor.

It looks like they had a more difficult time choosing Worst Actress, with Julia Roberts (Mother’s Day) and Shailene Woodley (The Divergent Series: Allegiant) making the list. You can say what you want about the movies they were in, but both are talented actresses, as is Naomi Watts, who was nominated for The Divergent Series: Allegiant and Shut In. It seems they couldn’t even find a sixth actress for the category, so Tyler Perry is in the running for Worst Actress for BOO! A Madea Halloween.

Also, how is Ben Affleck nominated for BvS?? Yeah, that was movie sucked, but he was one of the better parts. Do these people even watch these movies???!!! I mean, it’s probably better for everyone if NO ONE watches these movies, but still, if you’re gonna tar and feather bad art, at least get it right!!

I agree, the women’s category must have been tough, those are good actresses. The men all deserve their nominations.

I finally watched Zoolander2 (I freaking love #1), and wow was I disappointed. What a piece of crap. Not a single line in the movie was funny or memorable or even quotable.

I hope it wins in every category.
