Reese Witherspoon engaged

Reese Witherspoon, 34, has become engaged to talent agent boyfriend Jim Toth, 40, after dating for a year. A source close to the couple told People magazine: “Jim knows Reese is the one for him. It’s what he’s been waiting for. [Getting engaged] is a natural step for them,” adding, “Reese quickly realized that Jim was someone that she felt safe with and could count on. I think for the first time in a very long time, she feels as if she’s with a grown-up.” The source also says Reese’s children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe — Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7 — have bonded with Toth. Witherspoon married Phillippe in 1999, when she was 23 and he was 25. She then dated actor Jake Gyllenhaal, 30, for almost two years. Reese will next be seen on the big screen in Water for Elephants, starring opposite Robert Pattinson.
