Reese Witherspoon’s mother sues her father for bigamy

We’re guessing this is a case Elle Woods would not touch. Reese Witherspoon’s past relationship troubles are starting to look exceedingly ordinary as her mother, Mary Elizabeth is suing her estranged husband for bigamy. In a story that seems ripped from her 2002 rom-com, Sweet Home Alabama, the actress’s mother filed a lawsuit against her husband John and his new wife, Tricianne Taylor to get their marriage annulled. While they separated in 1996, John and Mary Elizabeth never got a divorce, which means they were still legally married when he wed his new wife in January. In the document, Mary Elizabeth says she’s still in love with her husband and wants Taylor to return all gifts received since their winter wedding—and that’s not even the shocking part. According to OK Magazine, when she confronted her ex about his new wife, John claimed to not even know who Taylor is, leading her to suspect he has early-onset dementia and that Taylor is an opportunist who took advantage of his condition. The fact that Taylor has complete control over her husband’s will seems to justify her claim. Despite this awkward situation, the Legally Blonde star has a lot to look forward to this Mother’s Day. On top of spending the occasion with her two children Ava and Deacon, Witherspoon is pregnant with her first child with new husband, Jim Toth. ~Kyle Sharp
