Nicole RichieNicole Richie has served a grand total of 82 minutes in jail for driving under the influence of drugs last December. She checked in to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday and was released at 4:37 p.m. Of that time, she spent 35 minutes in a cell. Officials said a non-violent woman sentenced to less than 30 days in jail usually serves less than 12 hours.

I give Nicole full marks for taking responsibility for her actions and doing her time. The young Ms. Ritchie is an inspiration to young and old alike.

Well, at least she didn’t wait until the absolute last day she had to go to jail. I was surprised by that. I guess Mr. Madden can keep his lady in check. Get it over with is the better thing to do. With the pregnancy and all. Maybe it will change her for the better. I wish that could be said for Britney Spears.

I think she should have spent the full time she was sentenced, however long that was. Would police let any ‘non-celeb’ out of jail early? I doubt it. I really don’t think she has paid a debt of any kind-I’m not even sure that she’s learned a lesson. Yeah, it’s good that she went, but they should have kept her in longer.
