Rihanna to finally testify in Brown case

RihannaNearly five months after the assault incident between Chris Brown and Rihanna occurred, Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, said after a hearing today in L.A. that prosecutors intend to subpoena the 21-year-old pop star to appear at a June 22 hearing to give evidence that will determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
“The DA has advised me that she will be subpoenaed [to testify],” Etra said. “She absolutely will comply.” The DA confirmed  that a motion by Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, to gain access to police records in order to discover who leaked a photo of Rihanna’s injuries was denied, though Geragos will have the right to cross-examine Rihanna when she takes the stand. Rihanna’s camp still believe that Brown is the one responsible for leaking the photos in order to damage her reputation. Brown, 20, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If found guilty Brown could face up to four years.

Lets hope that the LA justice system works this time, as we all know, La La Land’s courts don’t always get it right!

She’s not the one pressing charges, it’s the county/state. She probably doesn’t want to testify.

It’s the jury system that needs to be abolished. The general public is too stupid/unqualified in reaching verdicts.

I’m wondering what the hell “whay” means…???

Mark Geragos is his lawyer? That’s scary.

I hope she does take the stand and I hope she tells it like it is and then I hope his sorry ass gets sent to jail and maybe he gets a few slaps from some of the big boys in prison. Wonder how Chris would feel if his mother, sister, daughter(if he has one now or ever) were beat like that and had intimate pics put on the net. Bet he wouldn’t think too much of his actions then.

She has to take the stand, shes being summoned. My bets are that she won’t cooperate after all she did go back to him. My opinion, she ended it because she was embarrassed for all to know she still wanted him after the beating.

Gawd, her mother dresses her funny!

i think its stupid to wait 5 months to decide to get more evidence to see if this can go to trial. he probably wont end up in jail, even though he deserves it. she should press charges regardless, someone needs to teach him a lesson. and at least if the city presses charges, down the road when he does it again maybe he wont get off soo easy.

She should tell it all and run as fast as she can away from him.
She is much too good for him and needs to build her self esteem.
Where are her parents in this? They should make a stand and let her know that going back should not be an option.

I can’t wrap my head around the fact that she went back to him b4 the bruises were all gone!
She needs a lot of help and some serious counselling. They are both young, but she has good parents by all accounts, did they not get involved and make a firm stand? No way should she have been alone with him after what she looked like in the photos.
Move on Riahanna, you are too good for him!!

  14. tributegirl • May 30, 2009 @ 9:42 PM

Agreed, toothfairy, but it’s pretty hard for parents to “make a firm stand” when she is an adult.

Oh good, hopefully they will ask Rhianna how she was able to get Chris Browns phone out of his hands in the first place to start this whole thing. I would guess she would have had to get “physical” to get it from him.

  16. Carol • May 31, 2009 @ 9:07 AM

agreed, and the parents wouldnt’ have much to say that would interest the media, I’m sure. So it’s possible they could have or still are, but we will never know
