Robert Pattinson has turned down an offer from Simon Cowell to sign with his record label, Syco, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper. Although fans loved the two songs Rob recorded for the Twilight soundtrack, he thinks his music is “depressing” and not mainstream enough. He told the paper: “I love Simon, I think he is a great personality and I think his shows are entertaining. He is a clever guy, and he’s created artists that he knows the public will like, that’s why I don’t think he could ever launch my music career.” Though Rob sings, plays guitar and piano and writes his own songs, he says of his music: “I don’t think many other people would like it. I see myself playing in a rundown blues bar, with about three people drowning their sorrows. I play according to my mood, and sometimes that can come across as very depressing in music.” For now, Rob just wants to concentrate on his acting career. He’s currently filming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I.
