Robert Downey Jr. confident he’ll win an Oscar

Robert Downey Jr., best known as Tony Stark, is similar to his onscreen superhero persona. In the May issue of GQ magazine, the charming (but cocky) man of many words declared himself “one of the best actors” of his generation. “I’m probably one of the best,” the 48-year-old claimed, “But it’s not that big of a deal. It’s not like this is the greatest swath or generation of actors that has ever come down the pike.” The Iron Man actor is also convinced that one of these days, he’s going to receive an Oscar. He was previously nominated for two – one in 1993 for Chaplin and another in 2009 for Tropic Thunder, but came home empty-handed. “I know it’s going to happen. That’s just a fact. I, personally, would be shocked if we went to the end of the tape now and I didn’t have at least one. Look, even if I don’t get one directly, eventually they’re just going to have to give me one when I get old. So no matter how you slice it, I’m getting one… I should probably have more, but zero’s fine.” ~E. Guevarra
