Robert Pattinson drops out of Saddam Hussein film

Former Twilight star Robert Pattinson has reportedly dropped out of the upcoming thriller Mission: Blacklist, based on the search for Saddam Hussein. The actor was supposed to play the lead role in the film as real life military interrogator Eric Maddox. His name has been attached to the film since 2012, but according to a report from he bowed out due to scheduling conflicts. Robert just finished filming Life in the Toronto area and didn’t feel he had enough time to  prepare for this demanding role. Maddox led the the hunt for Hussein in 2003 and wrote the book, Mission: Blacklist #1, that inspired the movie. Erik Jendresen, who wrote and produced Band of Brothers, penned the script for Mission: Blacklist and Swedish filmmaker Jesper Ganslandt will direct. Due to Rob’s role now having to be recast, filmmakers are hoping to begin production in the fall. ~Tarah Bleier
