Robert Pattinson to replace Colin Farrell in Cosmopolis

Canadian director David Cronenberg has found a replacement for Colin Farrell in the film Cosmopolis — Twilight‘s very own Robert Pattinson. Farrell bowed out due to a prior commitment to play a role in Total Recall. The two productions will be filming at approximately the same time this spring. Set in New York city, Cosmopolis, which takes place over the course of 24 hours, is based on the 2003 novel by Don DeLillo. Pattinson will play a financial wizard who is considering risking his entire fortune on betting against the rise of the Japanese yen. He gets sidetracked when the limo he’s riding in gets held up due to a protest, a presidential visit, and a rapper’s funeral. The movie begins shooting mid-May in Toronto, as soon as Pattinson wraps filming on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. He’ll next appear on the big screen in Water for Elephants, opposite Reese Witherspoon.
