Robert Pattinson kiss worth $20,000!

By Paul on May 25, 2009 | 36 Comments

Robert PattinsonApparently Robert Pattinson‘s lips are in high demand and are worth a staggering $20,000, after a kiss with the actor was auctioned off at a recent charity event during the Cannes International Film Festival.
Pattinson, who has catapulted to fame with the Twilight movie saga, offered up some lip service at a gala for the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
The shy star blushed as he was placed on the auction block for bids to win a meeting with him and a kiss on the cheek.
A reportedly single Pattinson quipped, “If it goes well, maybe it will turn to something more!”  The bidding jumped to a whopping $20,000, with two lucky guests winning the final prize.

Apparently kissing “Edward” is a recession-proof dream for someone.

  2. tributegirl • May 25, 2009 @ 2:51 PM

Are you freakin’ kidding me? Crazy.

  3. sk8tergirl • May 25, 2009 @ 3:32 PM

    Wow. That’s…. kind sad. xD

  4. Carol • May 25, 2009 @ 6:03 PM

That’s great, selling kisses to support AIDS research…I know you can’t catch aids from kissing (just wanted to get that out before Mandee told me), but it seems kind of ironic that something somewhat sex related was sold for this foundation.
MADD will not raise funds from functions that include alcohol (ie. pub crawls) to the best of my knowledge because it goes against what they are raising money for. Just seems kind of backwards.

  5. Carol • May 25, 2009 @ 6:04 PM

To clairify, MADD does not seem backwards, just in case anyone misinterpreted.

  6. Trixy • May 25, 2009 @ 6:19 PM

Wow.. this is like mild prostitution.

  7. Jo-Anne • May 25, 2009 @ 8:10 PM

how can a “kiss on the cheek” be defined as even remotely “sex related”?

just wondering Carol, why the constant cheap provocation shots at mandee? that seems very backwards to me….

  8. mandee • May 26, 2009 @ 1:37 AM

no, it seems very childish actually joanne. but thanks for noticing. 🙂 it seems when everything finally seems to be ok between everyone on here someone feels the need to cause problems. anyways, i think a kiss on the cheek from robert shouldnt be sold. kissing is something intimate that you should only do with someone youre attracted to or in love with. i get that its for a good cause and all, and im glad that they are donating the money to aids research but couldnt they just as easily have sold like, a day on the town with robert? you get to spend the day with him, find out what he likes/dislikes, do some things you enjoy, maybe go to the movies or out for dinner and just basically be friends (well, other than the fact that you had to pay for it lol). i think that would have been more appropriate. but i dont know if someone would have paid 20, 000 for it. imagine what you could do with that kind of money? you could go on vacation, you could go to school, theres so many things it could have been spent on, and even if he is a star one .5 second kiss is definitely not worth that kind of money.

  9. demigod • May 26, 2009 @ 3:36 AM

I wonder if gays were allowed to bid lol
Pattinson would have taken back that quip..

  10. lily • May 26, 2009 @ 6:13 AM

Joanne at 8:10 is right on.
Theres nothing sexual at all about this, for heavens sake. Suggesting that a kiss on the cheek is somehow AIDS related is sick or just stupid. No sorry Carol I mean “backwards”. Do you think you can get pregnant from a toilet seat too?
I’m not a fan myself but the guy’s doing a nice thing for charity and so are the people who ponied up the cash. And for the person who called it “mild prostitution”…talk about overreacting!!!

  11. tributegirl • May 26, 2009 @ 8:43 AM

    LMAO demigod!!!

  12. Carol • May 26, 2009 @ 6:20 PM

Joanne, whatever…basically, she slammed my comments on another article, so she has to be willing to play the game. And why do you both keep quoting me…get your own material. I was not saying it was wrong, but merely passing a question for thought. So perhaps it was a thought worth pondering, if you can imagine that. Since when did you become Mandee’s bodyguard?
So both of you, get over yourselves and lets have a grown up discussion/debate on the topics at hand.

  13. Jo-Anne • May 26, 2009 @ 7:35 PM

I beg to differ Carol, I don’t think she slammed you, nor do I think you have been having “grown up” conversations lately…

when you’re ready, so am I…

  14. mandee • May 26, 2009 @ 10:30 PM

carol, when you start acting YOUR age, perhaps the rest of us will follow suit. what i said in the other article about you, i meant…IN the other article. theres absolutely no reason to continue to cause pointless fights on EVERY ARTICLE i may or may not post on just because you didnt like the fact that i disagreed with your “narrow minded” original post on a different article. i let things go the second i say something about them. im over it. somehow it seems to really have gotten underneath your skin that i didnt allow you to accuse others of being “narrow minded” and “quick to judge” because they saw things from one point of view. i have no idea how that could have offended you or bothered you to the point that you refuse to let it go and act like an adult and have a normal debate/conversation in other articles. if posts on this site are emotionally bothering you this much, perhaps you shouldnt be online at all? 🙂

  15. Carol • May 27, 2009 @ 6:09 PM

so, Mandee, I have to act grown up before you do… and that is again another dumb comment. Do you even know my age? Duh…
And Jo-anne, you take care of yourself just fine, let Mandee fight her own battles.

If you noticed, I have moved on past you, you’re hardly worth the time. You’ve proved your point, you make no sense. And why do my comments bother you so much anyway? Don’t be so sensitive…sheesh!

Now, can we maybe talk about the article…isn’t that why we are here?

  16. Jo-Anne • May 27, 2009 @ 6:42 PM

actually Carol, if you had moved on past mandee, (your words) you wouldn’t have stooped to your namesake “dumb” “duh” comments…you’re still reaching…

word of advice….stop giving me advice…

have to say, I just love it when those who have finished their little rants on others on here….consistently queery the necessity to stick to the topic at hand…

in many cases, if you backtracked, Carol, you’d observe those off topic comments actually followed A) after one has already commented on said article and B) after one feels compelled to respond to remarks aimed at…well themselves….

  17. mandee • May 27, 2009 @ 7:25 PM

“duh” carol, i know youre 23. i do recall reading that what was it, a few days ago when we were talking about nancys birthday? and do you know how old **I** am? no you dont, so shut your mouth. and once again, it isnt a “dumb” comment when im right.

  18. Carol • May 27, 2009 @ 8:49 PM

Um, well, Mandee, for the record, I don’t believe I said anywhere that I was 23, I am definitely not. You, my dear, are 24 and will be 25 in November I believe. Age has nothing to do with this. If I said that anywhere, I do stand corrected as it was a typo, BIG TIME. Let me know where I said it and I’ll fix it for you if it matters that much.

Joanne, as long as you keep giving advise, or whatever you call it, so will I. I see the way you talk to Nancy, you have no right, or just as much right as I do, however you want to look at it. How is that for reaching?

So, can we move on now?

  19. Nancy • May 27, 2009 @ 9:26 PM

Well, I’m glad someone sees it! I know I am totally rude and crude to Jo-Anne and I don’t ever see that changing but, she drove me to it a long time ago when she completely stomped all over any comment I made and went on like her opinions were the cats “meow”. That is when I got rude with her and nothing has changed since. In fact just yesterday on the article of the woman from Spiderman, I believe, I mentioned it that she treats/treated all my comments like garbage and that is why I treat her the way I do. Her reply of course, was that “garbage” is too nice a word for my comments. She’s a loser! 😀

  20. Jo-Anne • May 27, 2009 @ 9:41 PM

well, since you asked me, Carol, it’s reaching to the highest level…

btw, love your big talk-downs, followed up by the ever so meek “can we move on now(s)”?

wow, Nance, never miss an opportunity to grab another one, do you…look at poor me, I was so provoked, I never start anything, I was “driven” to my vulgar words, why does Jo treat me so bad (room for your classic WAH here)….in a word….garbage…

  21. mandee • May 27, 2009 @ 9:43 PM

well carol, sorry then about thinking you were 23. maybe someone else said it and i just assumed it was you? i dont remember which article and i dont care enough to search through them to see if it was you or not. someone mentioned that they agreed that getting household gifts doesnt make you old that they just turned 23 and still get stuff for their house.

  22. Nancy • May 28, 2009 @ 8:28 AM

Oh, everyone knows you’re the cry baby around here, Jo-Anne. Like I said….”loser”. I never said “I don’t start anything”…I just made it plain and clear to everyone WHY I treat you the way I do. You deserve every word I say to you and then some. Every name, every swear, every insult…maybe there is some kind of justification as to why the names and “bad language” which come from my fingertips don’t “await moderation” and alot of your comments do. Hmmm…

    1-800-WUF-WUFF

  23. Jo-Anne • May 28, 2009 @ 3:03 PM

justification??? and I suppose that’s your weak pathetic answer for freaking out (like the lunatic you demonstrate you are) on anyone who dares to “confront” you on this site…

face it, you always were, and still are a foul mouthed bully..

try emptying the trash once in awhile Nance, instead of recyling it…

  24. Jo-Anne • May 28, 2009 @ 3:04 PM

    recyCling…

  25. Nancy • May 28, 2009 @ 5:05 PM

Yeah sure…don’t project YOUR lunacy onto me, hag! I’m no bully but, put it this way…you already know that I don’t take the kind of sh!t that you like to dish out…from you OR anyone else. I’ve said to you many times before…when you give respect, you’ll get respect. Until then…piss off!

  26. Carol • May 29, 2009 @ 9:16 PM

Well, I see it clearly now…Jo-Anne can tell someone to act a certain way or how they are wrong and she is right, because she is on my case and then, on pretty much every comment about me, makes a comment about Nancy…It is hypocritical, Jo-Anne, you like to dish it, but aren’t willing to take it. And you seem to quote everyone from their comments, but hate it when people quote you. You constantly try to start sommething with Nancy, but are there to defend Mandee and tell me I’m in the wrong. Perhaps you should practice what you preach.

Mandee, no big deal on the age thing. There is a lot to read on this site and I think I remember where you read that, but it is not me. I’ve been there (23) and had fun at that age, but not willing to go back. And I do love getting stuff for the house. I’m far from old, but getting older is not so bad. You get to a point where you are very happy with who you are, it’s different from being in your 20’s. You will enjoy it when you get there (except for the slowing metabolism, that part sucks).

  27. Nancy • May 30, 2009 @ 12:09 PM

And the grey hair…hahahaha. Thank God for Miss Clairol!

Exactly Carol! I’m glad you see it. Someone finally gets it….FINALLY! I’ve been saying it for awhile now, telling Jo-Anne that she is “no better than anyone else”. She totally puts me down for my comments and I have VERY openly admitted that I have been “rude and crude” to her but that she totally deserves it. She talks about my bad language and the things I say and how that makes me a “bad mom”….well, I hope all of you have recently seen how I finally got her to show her true colours. She’s been very insulting as well as a little bad language herself. Hmmm….and the pot is just as black as the kettle…how’d that happen? LMFAO!

  28. Carol • May 30, 2009 @ 12:49 PM

Most everyone is rude and crude on this site for the most part, they all are great (me included) at voicing opinions…but to tell others how to be is crazy. I have one mother, don’t need another. I find Nancy very honest, just having fun with it but she does need to defend almost everything she says to someone (and we all know who that is for the most part)and that is so unnecessary. Love your comments Nance, keep ’em coming…lol…seriously, think about the road show, you’d make some big bucks…maybe you could open for Larry the Cable Guy, that would be a hoot.
Nancycakes, I about done with Clairol, maybe just shave it off and wax it…lol

  29. moondog • May 30, 2009 @ 12:51 PM

‘I hope all of you have recently seen how I finally got her to show her true colours.’ yup dont worry nance we’ve all seen her tru colors.

  30. Carol • May 30, 2009 @ 2:48 PM

Moondog, you are funny…I think I may love you…hahaha
Where is the peacekeeper (tributegirl) and our judge (demigod)? I think they may need to step in and put everyone in line here soon…lol…if they can.

  31. moondog • May 30, 2009 @ 3:54 PM

ahh sweet stuf carol, luv u 2!

  32. tributegirl • May 30, 2009 @ 10:15 PM

    LOL, here I am Carol!

  33. Carol • May 31, 2009 @ 9:35 AM

now we need our judge/referree…demigod…yooo hooo!

  34. Nancy • May 31, 2009 @ 2:49 PM

Oh, don’t forget the “old wise one”!! Like you said on another article Carol, she been MIA…..she went AWOL…and took my damn camoflauge pants! LOL.

  35. tributegirl • June 1, 2009 @ 6:29 PM

LOL, Nancy, sorry, but I’m trying to picture a 6′ tall woman dressed the way Jo-Anne described, every time I think of it I start laughing again! Hopefully she’ll soon bring back your pants!

  36. Nancy • June 1, 2009 @ 6:52 PM

Ahh, she can keep them….I wouldn’t want her crabs anyways. LMFAO!
