Rodriguez released early

Michelle RodriguezEx-Lost star Michelle Rodriguez has been released from jail after serving only 18 days of her 180-day sentence for a DUI-related probation violation. Her early release was due to severe overcrowding – standard time served in L.A. County is 10% of the sentence. Last May, Rodriguez served four hours of a 60-day drunk driving sentence in jail before being released.

Just goes to show, if your famous you don’t have to do the time. That is complete BS. I think all drunk drivers should have to serve the whole sentence. Maybe then people would learn not to drink and drive. Letting them off early just says its ok! And how do we know she didn’t kill someone or something when she was driving. Stupid broad

    Her release was long overdue.

Just long enough to detox huh?

Wow, not much of a deterrant there. That kind of a sentence just shows people that it’s ok to do whatever they want, they will pretty much get away with it. If they get caught, they are just going to get a slap on the wrist. Insane.

It wasn’t an intentional release. The guards were drunk and forgot to lock her cell. One of them even drove her home, got caught driving drunk back to the jail house and will be serving the remainder of her sentence. Not to worry though – he’ll be out in 21 days.

Revolving door justice is so kind to drunken Californians, isn’t it?

  9. me • January 11, 2008 @ 2:29 PM

He will be in for a whole 21 days? They’ll probably reduce that to 21 minutes, time off for good behavior!

This is totally ridiculous! Even that Paris chick had less time and served more. Here, Kiefer will probably have to serve his whole time because he’s male? Watch, she’ll end up doing it again and this time she will kill someone I bet. That’s a good one, detoxing……yeah, she did detox just so can start all over again with the drinking. Must be because she doesn’t have much of a career. What a sad law system. The justice system sucks and is only good for the celebrities who are stupid enough to get into trouble. Hey no worries, even if you do get time, you’ll be out within the day!

“Just goes to show, if your famous you dont have to do the time. That is complete BS.”

So what part of…”standard time served in L.A. County is 10% of the sentence.” Did you miss in that short artical?

  12. me • January 12, 2008 @ 4:17 PM

Danny Miller, do you have spell check and/or grammar check on your computer? If you do, please use it.

  13. Anonymous • January 12, 2008 @ 11:10 PM

Thank you me, I agree. He’s probably just used to texting so much that he’s let spelling and grammar slide to the wayside. Too bad for him.

They all get out because of “overcrowding”. Translated that means the celebrity would have to share a cell. Of course that can’t be allowed because the roommate would write a tell-all book titled “My Time in the Slammer with (fill in the blank)” and make a fortune from it. Can’t have that now, can we?

I don’t know why people make such a big deal about drinking and driving. You could honestly have a few beers and still be fine to drive. Obviously if your shitfaced you definitely should not be getting in the car there needs to be better rules on this topic. Only reason drinking and driving is a hot topic is because the damn crackheads are mixing crack, coke, and booze and what do you get?? Idiots causing accidents and taking lives.

I’m writing this from prison, found guilty of a dui. How can I be guilty of something I don’t even remember? Should be getting out any minute now…

  16. Anonymous • January 15, 2008 @ 1:46 AM

Hey Browny – did you take that particular moniker because you’re so full of s*** that you’re actually brown?

Even two drinks has been shown to cause enough impairment that you shouldn’t drive. Nothing pisses me off more than scumbag lawyers who argue that second point for people who face impaired charges and say they were too drunk to have formed the “criminal intent” to drink and drive.

It’s simple enough (even for pea-brains like you) IF YOU DRINK ANYTHING – DON’T DRIVE. Period. And, if our criminal laws were written to have it zero (not .08) there would be NO margin for error. Just what part about that would you not understand?

As for Michelle Rodriguez and all these other celebrity drunks, I wonder how much longer it’ll be before one of them kills someone? The analogy I can think of is “If you walk on railway tracks long enough – sooner or later you’re going to get hit by a train”.

I agree with Anonymous, “Browny” obviously has never lost anyone to one of these drunk scumbag idiots. I have, and the pain and sorrow is intense. If this is your true feeling, Browny, maybe it would be a good thing for you to lose a loved one in this way, maybe it would help you grow up a little bit and be a productive member of society, instead of the low life leech you obviously are.

  18. theoriginalme • January 15, 2008 @ 3:13 PM

Crap, my 2:55pm comment is “awaiting moderation”. They are probably going to alter it.

  19. theoriginalme • January 15, 2008 @ 4:02 PM

Yay! They let it go through as printed!

  20. browny • January 15, 2008 @ 9:50 PM

Hey, come on guys, I don’t even remember most of that night! Maybe it didn’t even really happen!

  21. Anonymous • January 15, 2008 @ 10:37 PM

Losing the few brain cells you have left Browny is NOT a good thing. Please tell me you aren’t planning on reproducing any time soon – we already have too many inferior specimens out making babies. Then again, Britney gives us so much to rant about. Just stay out of the gene pool, please!
