Rolling Stone’s Boston Bomber cover doubles sales

Rolling Stone‘s controversial new issue featuring Boston Marathon suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on its cover is a top seller at the newsstands, according to statistics by Adweek. Despite talks online to boycott the magazine for giving the 19-year-old terrorist suspect a cover usually reserved for celebrities, Adweek revealed that over 13,000 copies of the issue were sold at over 1,400 retailers between July 19 and July 29. The issue titled, “The Bomber: How a Popular, Promising Student Was Failed by His Family, Fell Into Radical Islam and Became a Monster,” has also sold nearly twice as many copies as most previous issues of Rolling Stone. ~Alfonso Espina
