Russell Crowe catches UFO on camera

By Tribute on March 7, 2013 | 17 Comments

Russell Crowe and a friend had their cameras ready to capture fruit bats rising from Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens but were surprised when they saw what appeared to be several flying objects zooming over the Botanic Gardens. He tweeted about it and uploaded the captured footage on YouTube on a new account, ParallelUniverse1234. The clip is titled “UFO? Time Lapse Photos Outside RC’s Woolloomooloo Office (THESE ARE REAL).” Many social media users instantly doubted his footage. One asked whether it could just be lens flares but Crowe replied, “Canon 5D, no flash, can’t be lens flare because it moves, camera is fixed.” He also stated that he was about 250 meters from the gardens when the footage was caught and “the camera was on a balcony – not behind glass.” Check out the video for yourself below. ~E. Looks real.

I don’t know, it appeared to be close to the camera & was in front of the trees, no distant. And as an aside, its shaped like a tube of toothpaste (grin).

They look (to me) like lights on a van/truck or bus.

I catch lights like that on camera all the time when using a long exposure at night: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cdhc/352221415/

I reserve judgement on credibility until I know: exactly what it was taken with, exactly what lens was used, what the exposure/aperture was, what the time-lapse interval was, what direction it was taken from, what you would expect to see in the sky in that direction, and many other aspects. Professional photographers usually annotate their pictures with the details (I.E. Nikon F10, Nikkor 18-35mm f3.5-5.6 @f5.6, 1/4sec) so they can either recreate it later, or tell others how to get similar results. Of course this is not a professional photographer.

I suspect it may have been a plane, or some other explainable moving light in the sky.
The dashed nature of the object tells me the exposure was not instantaneous, but maybe ½ or ¼ second. The Mysterious line that runs across the bottom is probably just an artefact flare in a poorly set up lens (internal light reflection in the lens). The fact that it appears to pass in front of the tree at the left doesnt mean it did so. As the light shines through the foliage in a long exposure, the blurred edges of the light would appear to stitch together looking like a solid line.

    Just my $.02

It is the lights from a passing car.

UFO sightings….are old news. How many sightings have been filmed or photograghed & seen.

Russell’s footage makes his UFO look like a double image, 2 images put together on film. But I’m not stating that he made this setup film.

He was the one there & saw the UFO with his own eyes & insist it was a UFO sighting. Considering his popularity, I’m sure he’s not saying this in order to get attention. He doesn’t need it or want it.

I guess it all comes down to whether you believe in UFO’s or not.

Oh Russell, anything to stay in the media spotlight.

    Publicity stunt anyone?

That “UFO” looks very superimposed on the rest of the picture. It doesn’t look like the rest of the lighting in the scene.

I don’t buy it, not one bit

I don’t think so. There are three coloured vertical streaks across the width of the still picture before pressing “play” so what’s that all about? Pretty fishy. I think he got a new camera and was playing with it learning how to use it and got this picture and came up with a wild story as a joke to see how many people would believe it.

You’re all idiots for even reading this article. I just read the title and posted this.

Yeah, nice try Crowe. The font alone at the start makes this fake and gay.

Yeah right, what a joke, Crowe must be drinking again

hah hah, Russell…one can see all sorts of flare in the image..those red vertical bands are what? Clearly the image is anomalous and the result of perhaps aircraft lights richocetting off some nearly object into the lens. A canon 5D does NOT exhibit all these odd colours imposed on the sensor unless there was a very intense source off camera for otherwise it would be a set of focussed secondary images.
Everybody..go back to sleep..no UFOs landing any time soon…
