Ryan O’Neal confesses to being a bad parent

On Tuesday during an interview on The Today Show, Ryan O’Neal admitted to having poor parenting skills. O’Neal has four children, three of whom have struggled with addiction. During the taping Matt Lauer asked O’Neal if he felt he was a bad parent. He responded with, “Looks like it, doesn’t it? I suppose I was.” He went on to say that his children are adults now and need to take responsibility for their own actions. “Griffin is 45, Tatum is 49, who’s the other one? Redmond is 27. They have to take hold of their own existences.” O’Neal also spoke about his published memoir, titled Both of Us: My Life with Farrah. He said he wrote the book because he misses Farrah (Fawcett), and isn’t over losing her. ~Graeme Mollison

Even if his kids are adults and make their own choices, it is a fact that if they were surrounded by drugs and alcohol etc..then they will likely lean towards that in the future. They may be older and should have will power enough to see the literature out there or make a decision to change/be different then what they should KNOW is wrong, then yes, they also need to take the majority of their own responsibility for their actions but a fraction still belongs to Ryan.
