Ryan Reynolds makes young cancer patient’s wish come true

Last week Vancouver native Ryan Reynolds teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation to make young Tony Acevedo’s dream of meeting his hero, Deadpool, a reality.

Tony has been battling Hodgkin’s disease. He got the chance to meet Ryan on the set of the upcoming movie, Deadpool, currently filming in downtown Vancouver. Ryan posted photos of the two on the film set on his Instagram account, showing Tony wearing the mask and gloves of his favorite hero.

Ryan wrote a caption that went with the photos shown here: “Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool. I wasn’t expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile… and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed. Tony’s next fight is with Hodgkin’s Disease. Hodgkin’s Disease best be wearing its brown pants.”

Earlier this month Ryan also met with with 15-year-old Calista King. Calista is a young girl battling a brain tumor and she was lucky enough to be given one of the Deadpool swords as well as a walk on part in the movie.

Deadpool may be the “merc with the mouth” but Ryan has a heart of gold.
