By Alexandra Heilbron on February 21, 2012 | 2 Comments

The thriller Safe House starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, squeaked past last week’s top movie, The Vow, at the weekend box office, taking in an estimated $24 million (all figures U.S.) in its second weekend, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars from Tribute viewers. The romantic drama The Vow, starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, followed closely behind with an additional $23.6 million for a two-week total of over $85 million. The new sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance debuted with lower-than-expected earnings of $22 million and 3 stars from Tribute viewers. The 3D children’s adventure Journey 2: The Mysterious Island dropped a place to fourth, taking in $20.1 million. Rounding out the top five was the new Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy This Means War, earning a disappointing $17.6 million but 4 stars from Tribute viewers.

I don’t understand how Safe House is number 1. It was such a waste of time…good acting by the 2 guys but the storyline was so deflated. I hate chick flicks but I wouldve rather seen The Vow or even This Means War!

Joey what’s wrong with you? Safe House was SO good! Denzel Washington is THE MAN! Although a Rachel McAdams movie is always a win with me
