Salma Hayek‘s brother was involved in a tragic car crash last Sunday that took the life of his passenger, Grammy-award winning art director Ian Cuttler Sala. Sami Hayek, 40, was driving a sports car when he lost control of the steering wheel and collided with a truck. Sami survived with several broken ribs and the truck driver broke his left foot, but it was the art director – in the passenger seat of the sports car – who suffered a fatal blow. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to “major blunt-force trauma to his body,” reported CNN. Ian Cuttler Sala won a Grammy in 2006 for his work on Johnny Cash: The Legend box set. Throughout his career, he had worked with many top names in the music world including Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Marc Anthony. ~Yara Matar
