Sandra Bullock: My son doesn’t know I’m an actress

Sandra Bullock‘s son doesn’t know she is an actress. The Oscar-winning star has revealed little Louis has no idea his mother makes her living from movies and she wants to keep him in the dark about her career for a little while longer.

She said: ”He doesn’t know what I do, he doesn’t know that I do any of this. Work just means I leave and he doesn’t like it when I leave so that’s the way I’d like to keep it for a little while because that’s going to change on a dime one day.”

Bullock wants Louis – who she adopted in 2010 – to be like any other kid and be embarrassed by his mum as she’s sure he will want to embrace the perks of her job when he’s a teenager.

In an interview on UK TV show Lorraine, the Minions star said: ”I don’t want him to like what I do I want him to be embarrassed by me. Do you know what I mean? I do. Because that’s what you do, you don’t think of your parents as anything they do is cool, you just roll your eyes. I just want him to be like every other kid and go, ‘Oh she’s so irritating, she does nothing.’ Which is true, which if he says that he’s spot on. I want him to be innocent a little longer and not know this world is fake because he still thinks it’s real.”

When Louis does discover his mother is a movie star, Bullock insists she wouldn’t deter him from wanting to be an actor himself but she would give him the same warnings about the job that her parents told her when she announced she wanted to be a thespian.

Discussing whether she’d be happy for her son to follow in her footsteps career-wise, the 50-year-old actress insisted: ”If he does I’ll bite the bullet, I’ll say what my parents did – if you’re going to do it, do it 100 percent and you might need a second job, do it for the passion and love of it, don’t do it for anything else.”
