Sandra Bullock wants Oscar hood ornament

sandra_bullock_oscarsSandra Bullock wants to weld her Oscar to the front of her car. The actress, who was named best actress at the Academy Awards on Sunday, is still amazed she won, and jokes that she wants as many people as possible to see the prestigious gold statue. “I’m going to have my husband Jesse weld it to the hood of the car. It will be there to remind me as I do the school and grocery runs.” she laughed. “I’ll take my award food shopping. More people will see it.” The 45-year-old added she is looking forward to her life getting back to normal. She has been a regular on the red carpet in recent weeks, and wants to spend time at home with her husband Jesse James. Mostly, Sandra can’t wait to not have to wear make-up all the time, and to start gorging on fattening foods. “There’s a sense of relief. Now I can look back and think, ‘Wow, this is a little piece of history,’ ” she told British newspaper The Daily Star. “It’ll sink in weeks from now and it’ll dawn on me. Then I’ll just drop to my knees and start crying in the middle of the street.”

I am guessing that the comment about welding your Oscar to the hood of your car was just a result of how proud you were feeling at the moment, and that you are not actually going to do it. But he press always has to “run” with what sells. You are already held high in the eyes of those who love you. Putting the Oscar ‘before’ you would look like gloating which doesn’t suit you.I believe you to be proud but humble. Love it, be proud of it,dream about it, look at it, touch it,and be grateful for it. The Oscar only represents a part of your life; it is not who you are. This…you already know.

Deep. But I’m thinking she was just joking around.

Yes, we are still amazed that you won too especially up against the other awesome actresses and in a weak vehicle like The Blind Side. Just goes to show that sometimes the best doesnt win. Look at Marissa Tomei, another mystery as to how she won. Enjoy it because I am sure it wont happen again. But please have class and dont weld it to the front of your car. I hope is is just a joke.

I sure hope she is joking about doing this. Once it has been taken off its base it will be ruined for life. Can you imagine how long it would last before someone rips it off in most neighborhoods!

Penny and Ann, you do know that the chance of Sandra actually reading the gossip column of Tribute is pretty much nonexistent, right? So… adressing your comments directly to her is either self important, or just weird. And Ann, speaking of class, the bitchiness is not all that well disguised, but you get an A for the effort. What the heck, I’m feeling generous today!

I’m not surprised that Sandra won an oscar… she is great and very funny. She is so proud that she said she wants it in front of the car… not that she is really doing it.

Wow. You people are harsh! Sandra is a very accomplished actress, who performed a very demanding role with grace and class. And she has one of the best nature abilities to joke and self-deprecate that I have ever seen. You should all admire her for who and what she is.
