Second Annie trailer reveals major changes from original musical

The second trailer for the new movie version of the Broadway musical Annie reveals some funny moments (Miss Hannigan is mistaken for a prostitute), as well as major differences from the original long-running hit that it’s based on. The movie is set in modern day rather than the 1930s, so instead of living in an orphanage, Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) is in foster care. The song “It’s a Hard Knock Life” has had some words changed to reflect that, with the new line: “No one cares for you a bit when you’re a foster kid” instead of “No one cares for you a smidge when you’re in an orphanage.” Daddy Warbucks is now Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx), a billionaire who’s running to be the Mayor of New York.
In this new trailer, you see Annie bump into him on the street and then fall in front of a moving van. Stacks pulls her out of the way just in time, and the event is filmed by someone, possibly on a cell phone camera. When the video goes viral, the public wants to know more about Annie. Since the video has moved Stacks five points up in the polls, Grace (Rose Byrne), who was Daddy Warbucks’ secretary in the original version but now seems to be a campaign manager, advises that he take the little girl to lunch to get even more good publicity.
